521 Fifth
The repositioning of 521 Fifth Avenue, just steps away from Grand Central and Bryant Park, involved a major interior and façade renovation of a classic Art Déco building. A dark metal canopy and new signage announces the building’s presence on the streetscape. Black wavy pillars line the corridor and lead to the reception desk. A striking commissioned artwork by contemporary abstract artist Johnny Niesche serves as an entry focal point and can also be viewed from the street.
The new lobby, with dedicated café and separate coffee/wine bar, features comfortable seating and a custom mirrored art piece inspired by Bauhaus design created in collaboration with Bower Studios. The 24th Floor, one of the building’s premier spaces, is elevated with high-end furnishings and materials, and contains the property’s only exterior terrace.
