Nevins Landing

With a design that references the site’s industrial past, Nevins Landing, is situated between two bridges spanning the revitalized Gowanus Canal. The mixed-use development offers an amenity- and environmentally-rich lifestyle for the residents of its two towers. Featuring a publicly accessible arcade, the development is poised to become a year-round destination for this up-and-coming community and for those living in surrounding Brooklyn neighborhoods and beyond.

The two buildings share a unified design language, but they are distinguished by height and color. The taller building is clad in red brick, and its lower sibling is grey. Nodding to its neighbor—the 117-year-old Powerhouse Arts building and other industrial buildings in Brooklyn—arches appear on the buildings’ storefronts, entry portals, and windows on the podium. This motif, common to Brooklyn’s 19th-century industrial architecture, continues in the lobbies where arches create vaulted nooks with comfortable seating arrangements.
